We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Ladieswear Senior Buyer to join a thriving team. You will be ambitious, passionate and business minded .The ideal candidate will thrive from working in a fast-paced environment and will have extensive knowledge of current trends.
The role
- Support the Buying Director and Head of Buying in developing and delivering the Buying Strategy
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with existing suppliers
- Ensure consistent quality and service, negotiating new supplier agreements to achieve profitable pricing and delivery terms
- Plan and build a commercially balanced range, achieving margin targets set by the company
- Drive regular departmental product reviews, ensuring coordination across departments in terms of trends, looks, and colour palettes
- Operate an effective and timely product sign-off process, in line with the critical path and planning cycle
- Lead ladieswear in driving trend-led collections with the right level of newness, fashion, and trend
- Maximize profit through strong negotiation and development of global supplier relations
- Trade the department and analyse relevance of new and emerging trends for the brand, planning accordingly
- Work collaboratively with the merchandising team to monitor and control trade, ensuring stock turn, margin targets, and profit levels are achieved
Requirements
- Experience working at Senior Buyer level or above in a fast-paced fashion retailer
- Proven track record of developing and trading highly commercial fashion ranges that exceed sales and profit targets
- Deep understanding of fabrics, garment construction, and the whole buying process, with a strong print eye
- Passion for trends and ability to drive newness in a fast-paced environment35
- Experience in negotiating with suppliers to secure the best value, cost prices, and lead times
- Strong analytical skills to interpret sales forecasts and consumer buying patterns
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments, including merchandising and marketing
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for pitching new ideas to senior management
- You will be a trend-driven, customer-focused professional with the ability to deliver commercial and inspiring fashion ranges
- You should be able to balance creativity with commercial acumen, ensuring that product selections meet both customer demands and financial targets
