We are looking for an experienced Freelance Ladieswear Designer to join a busy team, specialising in mature ladieswear.
The ideal candidate will have strong all-round womenswear design experience and be confident designing across a wide range of product categories, including:
- Tops & blouses
- Dresses
- Knitwear
- Trousers & bottoms
- Jackets & outerwear
- Co-ordinated pieces and other ladieswear
Key Responsibilities
- Designing commercial, stylish and wearable collections for the mature ladieswear market
- Creating new styles and developing existing designs
- CAD design and preparation for sampling, including accurate size specifications
- Creating and developing prints, patterns and colourways
- Working closely with the sampling and production process to ensure designs are clearly communicated
- Keeping up to date with current fashion trends while understanding the needs of the mature customer
- Working independently and managing deadlines across multiple projects
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone with:
- Proven experience as a Ladieswear Designer
- Strong knowledge of the mature ladieswear market
- Excellent all-round product knowledge
- Strong CAD skills and experience preparing designs for sampling
- Experience creating original prints and artwork
- A good understanding of garment construction, fit and sizing
- A commercial eye and ability to design with the customer and market in mind
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a small, busy team
Working Pattern
Freelance – 2 days per week in the office, with the possibility of 3 days depending on workload.
