The Company:
Leading fashion brand are looking for a Senior Import Merchandiser to join their merchandising team. You will work with major store groups over a number of product categories including Nightwear and Accessories.
The Role:
- This role combines strategic planning, supplier relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration to optimise the company’s global supply chain.
- Maintain clear and accurate reporting to develop business strategies and meet company KPI’s
- Act as a gate keeper to oversee the end-to-end import process, from purchase orders to end destination, managing risk proactively
- Responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the production and critical path for the merchandising team
- Overseeing weekly critical path meetings with merchandisers and tech teams, providing status updates on each line
- Build and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers. Resolve conflicts or issues with suppliers promptly and effectively.
- Evaluate supplier performance and ensure adherence to agreed service levels and quality standards
- Build strong relationships with key clients, including face to face meetings
- Manage customer orders on key accounts, ensuring all queries are answered and issues are resolved
- Manage team of two merchandisers and part time admin support
- Lead, mentor, and develop the team to achieve departmental objectives.
- Identify individual and team training requirements ensuring soft and technical skills are developed fully to maximise productivity
- Ensure department’s efficient use and development of software, ERP and Power Bi
- Proactively identify and lead process improvements within the department
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment
Skills Required:
- Established Import/Wholesale Merchandiser with at least 3 years’ experience
- Motivated, resourceful, problem solve with an ability to make commercial decisions
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Knowledge and confidence of Microsoft Office 365 and MS Teams, Advanced Excel – VLOOKUP’s, Pivot Tables
- Proficiency in ERP systems, supply chain management software and Power Bi is preferred
- Analytical mindset with a focus on cost optimisation and efficiency
- Leadership and team-building abilities
- Must have a flexible approach to work and be highly organised
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
