The Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Fabric & Product Development Developer to support the Head Designer and Head of Production & Development across fabric sourcing, sampling, fitting coordination, and communication with international factories (primarily China).

This role requires strong organizational skills, technical understanding of fabrics and trims, and the ability to manage multiple sampling and development tasks simultaneously.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Place all lab dip enquiries and liaise with suppliers to confirm ready dates.
  • Maintain internal systems, ensuring all fabric and trim details are up to date for design and production teams.
  • Manage trim development with design and artwork teams, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
  • Source and develop fabrics and trims with existing and new suppliers across Europe and Asia.
  • Oversee fabric testing requirements from sampling through to production.
  • Request and track all relevant technical and sustainability certifications from suppliers.
  • Approve bulk fabric submissions and colour masters.
  • Add new fabrics to the internal system, including lab dip approvals and technical information.
  • Create and update tech packs for samples from first prototype through to production approval (China-based production).
  • Act as the liaison point for factories, ensuring clear and proactive communication on all developments.
  • Manage sampling notes, MS sheets, and internal database entries for all new styles.
  • Book samples into the system and prepare sampling packs for dispatch.
  • Prepare and measure received samples ahead of fittings, attending all fit sessions.
  • Annotate fit notes and update tech packs accordingly.
  • Coordinate fit model bookings and liaise with agencies to confirm availability.
  • Raise sample purchase orders from initial sample to size set approvals.
  • Review invoices from factories, ensure accuracy, and seek approval for any additional costs.
  • Track and log all sample shipments, updating relevant team members as needed.
