The Company:
A fantastic opportunity for a Fashion Buyer to join the team within a successful and established company. Working with and reporting to the Head of Buying you will get autonomy of your area allowing you growth and progression.
The Role:
- Manage critical path from initial concept through to final process and buying.
- Working with design to develop product direct to factories.
- Have worked with both short and long lead times.
- Understanding clothing product trends and interpreting them where relevant.
- Developing the right product at the right time, in line with the departmental design brief to meet customer requirements.
- Applying in-depth knowledge of a competitive market place.
- Exploiting OTB through product development with Merchandiser.
- Give direction to the team to instore layout and marketing.
- Weekly reviews of current sales with the team and appropriately react to maximise every sales opportunity.
- To monitor, maintain and action competitor analysis.
- Motivating and developing of direct reports in your department.
- Determine pricing strategy and price point policy for ranges in conjunction with Merchandiser.
- Working alongside garment technologist and oversee fit process.
- Attend weekly fit sessions.
- Initiating trial product opportunities to maximise future sales and reduce risk.
Skills Required:
- Must have a minimum of 3-5 years within a Buying role
- Have passion for ladies fashion industry
- Experience and understanding of supply chain – issues/costs/lead times etc
- Negotiation skills
- Line management and team development experience
- Easily build rapport and initiate strong relationships within all stakeholders including Merchandisers, Techs and designers
- Desirable but not essential – worked within ladies fashion / apparel multi products
