The Company
An exciting opportunity for an assistant Garment Technologist to join an online fashion brand has become available.
The Role:
- Working on styles from concept right through to product delivery
- Creating detailed and easy to follow workbooks for our manufacturers
- Measuring and quality checking garments when they arrive to the business
- Sending clear comments to factories
- Ensuring lab dips, sealers, fits, production and lab tests are chased up and in on time to ensure critical path and delivery dates are met
- Working closely with the design team through the product development stage for each garment at the start of each season
- Create a block and pattern library for each season
- Attending fit sessions and develop size charts
- Arranging production, pre-production QC checks and grading garments
- Assisting in the assessment of new suppliers and products
- Approving fabrics, test reports and inspections
- Keeping clear records relating to all product design, development, approvals and technical issues
Skills required
- Extensive knowledge in knit and woven fabrications
- High level of pattern knowledge and technical garment construction
- Previous experience within a similar role working on ladies wear and across multiple product categories
- Must be able to work efficiently and part of a team in a fast paced environment
- Have a high attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to effectively communicate with overseas and domestic factories
- Able to use Microsoft office suite, experience in adobe suite would be a bonus but not essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication and relationship building skills
